Description | This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to perform a safety assessment to determine the appropriate level of track protection required for the infrastructure and work groups on a rail network during track work activities in accordance with Access Provider, legislative and regulatory requirements. Licensing or certification requirements are not applicable to this unit. | ||

Learning Outcomes and Application | People achieving competence in this unit will need to fulfil the legislated rail safety requirements including acts and regulations from the applicable state or territory together with any nationally approved compliance codes and/or guidelines.The unit includes the application of Access Provider rules, procedures and protocols for rail safety. All activities are performed under established rules and procedures.This unit also provides the authority to position lookout protection. | ||
